ABOUT US

About the Founder

My name is Dante Benedetti. I was born in South Florida in 2014. I am the founder of a small business that I named Little Hands for the Planet. It’s my mission to try to teach and inform as many kids as I can about environmental problems on our planet. I would like kids to be more aware of the products they use and to choose products that do less harm to our environment. We may have Little Hands, but we can use them to do a lot of good. For that reason, Little Hands for the Planet sells eco-friendly products that are reusable, recyclable and do not fill up our landfills.

Why did I start this business?

Well, I love animals, marine life, and nature. With help from my parents, I go to clean local beaches and parks frequently. I pick up a lot of plastic and garbage and it just keeps coming back. The litter and plastic that people leave behind at our beautiful beaches and parks cause a lot of environmental problems and damage to our marine life. Our planet is asking for help!

I try to motivate people to believe that they can make small changes every day and make a big difference. Just by saying no to things like plastic straws, you can help save a turtle and other marine life. I will use my business to raise funds and awareness for local and national charities such as Heal the Planet, Miami Rescue, Jubilee Center, and many others. Every month, I will give 15% of my profits to the charity of the month which you can help me choose! I will also find creative ways to give back to our community like organizing beach and park clean-ups.

Thank you to my team, my mother and father (Mario and Marcell Benedetti). Without their support, this would not be possible.

I hope you will join me on this journey to do more for our planet…. say no to plastic!

Why Bamboo?

Single-use plastics, those used once and thrown away, are one of the world’s worst contributors to pollution. It makes up about 40% of all plastic trash and most of it ends up in our oceans, rivers, woodlands, and landfills. It is believed that almost 9 million tons of plastic ends up in our oceans every year. How many times have you heard that there will be more plastic in our oceans than fish! This is shocking and must stop because plastic is killing our environment.

How can you help? A simple way is to switch from using single-use plastics to more sustainable products like bamboo. Bamboo is one of the most environmentally friendly crops that exists today. Bamboo is a plant, not a tree. A bamboo plantation has a yield up to 25 times that of a forest. Bamboo does not require pesticides or artificial fertilizers. It is worth mentioning that each bamboo plant can produce 30% more of oxygen in comparison with other types of trees. Hence, growing more bamboo plants helps to bring a cleaner atmosphere.

We use bamboo for products because it has antibacterial and antifungal properties, it is soft to the touch and hypoallergenic. Virtually all of the bamboo plant is used and it is biodegradable.
